The redevelopment of Oakworth Crematoria is part of Bradford MDC Bereavement strategy which aims to upgrade and enhance their ageing facilities.
The refurbished crematorium operates to and above national standards of emissions including the removal of mercury and nitrogen oxide pollutants to make them as environmentally friendly as possible as well as future proofing them against upcoming regulation changes.
The works at Oakworth Crematorium included the removal of the previous outdated cremator, the construction of a purpose-built facility and the installation of a new, energy efficient cremator, featuring the latest emission-reducing technology. The extension sits alongside the extensively refurbished and modernised original chapel and waiting room facilities. Incorporating energy saving installations working with the existing classical building and new modern extension.
Overall project value £500,000.00 over a 8 month period.
